Instructor Training Course

This is the final step in the instructor development process. Candidates make a number of academic, confined water and open-water teaching presentations, as well as learn more about continuing education and the business of diving.
Who?

Who Can Enroll? This course is open to divers who:
- Are at least 18 years old.
- Are certified to the Dive Master of Assistant Instructor level or equivalent.
- Have logged at least 100 dives.
- Have secured a physician’s approval for diving within the past twelve months, based on the standard Medical History/Exam form.
What?

What is involved? This course consists of:
- Self study.
- A minimum of 6 classroom sessions.
- A minimum of 2 pool sessions.
- A minimum of 3 open water sessions consisting of multiple dives.
Where and When?

Where and when do classes take place? Classes take place at the following places and times:
- Classroom sessions take place at agreed upon time between the candidate and the Instructor.
- Pool sessions take place during regularly scheduled beginning classes.
- Local open-water training dives take place Saturday and Sunday, during regularly scheduled beg.
Starting dates include:
- Because minimum class size is 1, this course starts anytime someone signs up.
How Much?

How much does it cost? The course fee is $1300 per person and includes:
- All study materials.
- Tanks and Weights.
Students are responsible for supplying all of the equipment items listed below, plus:
- Entry fees to dive facilities or dive charter fees.
What Equipment?

What equipment will you need? Students are responsible for supplying all of the equipment items listed below:
- Mask, snorkel, fins.
- Adequate exposure protection.
- Buoyancy Control Device (BC).
- Regulator/alternate air source.
- Depth gauge/timer or computer.
- Audible surface signal.
- Surface signal (safety tube).
- Cutting tool.
- Dive tables and slate.
- Compass.
- Pocket Mask.
- U/W Light and backup.
